Dan Medlock

I’m Dan Medlock. I’m an entrepreneur, business executive, husband and father.

I believe government should be practical, local and accountable. We need to get the basics right, spending taxpayers’ money carefully, and working with residents to deliver real improvements in our communities and the country.

Career

I've spent my career in the technology sector, most recently launching & running an AI business - Drumbeat.

Since 2018 I have worked at the cutting edge of artificial intelligence (“AI”) across a number of venture capital-backed startup companies.

Prior to this I was a member of the leadership team for BT’s UK cybersecurity unit, partnering with private businesses & government to defend against cyber attacks & threats.

I'm an ACA chartered accountant by training.

Public Life

Since 2019 I’ve campaigned in various local and national elections.

In 2026 I was a key member of the campaign committee in the Waltham Forest local council elections, helping our team increase our seat count by 40%, and helping win back three seats from Reform.

My campaign experience extended across digital/social media, literature and doorstep activity as well as media (local radio interviews).

As Treasurer of my association I’ve played a key role in longer-term plans for fundraising to support our 2029 General Election campaign.

Since 2020 I’ve been a governor of Amersham School in Buckinghamshire, and I was also a Margaret Thatcher Fellow at the Centre for Policy Studies.
